Seeking an expert to join our co‑operative governance panel

The Co‑operative Governance Expert Reference Panel, led and facilitated by Co‑operatives UK, is looking for a new panel member.

This person should have recent expert experience in leadership and innovation in governance – ideally with a specific focus on worker and employee owned businesses.

The Co‑operative Governance Expert Reference Panel enables Co‑operatives UK members to shape areas of strategic priority for the UK co‑operative movement in the field of governance. The Panel is the custodian of the governance agenda for co-operatives in the UK, and works to set governance standards for co‑operatives, encouraging innovation, active challenge and debate.

The Panel, made up of individuals with a proven track record in governance and/or co‑operative and mutual working practice, is searching for a new member that can bring and share knowledge and experience of governance in all its forms, and who has experience of either working on or with worker owned co‑operatives. Members of the Panel should be able to challenge the existing and the traditional so that it can embrace and lead innovation and provoke debate and change.

“This is an interesting time to join the Panel as we consider changes in governance practice to respond to external challenges and to support our aspiration to drive excellent standards. We look forward to receiving your application” Angela Lomax, Chair, Co‑operative Governance Expert Reference Panel

The Panel meets four times a year, mostly virtually, if you would like further information on the Panel and its work you can find it here.

If you would like to discuss the Panel and what we’re looking for, or you would like to apply for the vacant place, please contact [email protected] who will be happy to help. The deadline for applications is 31 October.
